Hello. My name is Jesse Birkey. I’m a Firefighter/Paramedic, husband and father of two. I am also the author of two books, Marriage: What’s the Point and Life Resurrected, and minister the gospel as the Lord leads. My wife Kara and I operate this blog together. Welcome!
This is our personal blog. It is focused on reflecting the heart of God to each and every one of us. We are passionate about seeing God heal the broken hearted, set the captives free and restore relationships. We are also passionate about hearts being transformed and ordinary people being used by God in extraordinary ways.
This blog will focus on miraculous testimonies and freedom teaching. You will find testimonies of God using ordinary people in extraordinary ways and also teaching that can set your heart free. Our goal and passion is to help others in the ways God has helped us.
We will typically post 2 times per week. To make sure you don’t miss any please click the “follow” button.
I grew up in a Christian home with a pastor for a father but it was only a handful of years ago that I began to truly understand what it means to love and follow Jesus.
It took a dramatic encounter with the Lord to get me out of my lukewarm existence. I describe that encounter in detail in my book Life Resurrected. God changed my entire world in a very short time. As He changed my heart I began to see Him move in power through me. I began to see the dead raised, sick healed and captives set free. These things happen at work, on the street, in the grocery store etc.
But it wasn’t all fun as my heart transformation couldn’t happen without some very tragic and painful experiences. God taught me all about repentance and restoration. I was married to Kara in 2003 and it wasn’t without its struggles. I describe our marital tragedy in my book Marriage: What’s the Point?
I have been a Firefighter/Paramedic for nine years. I have an associate’s degree in business and I don’t have any current plans to get anything higher than that. I was recently promoted to Field Training Officer and I enjoy teaching new paramedics as they come into the field.
We have done some conference speaking and other events and we look forward to what God is going to do with us in the future. We have two children, a dog, a cat and a bird.
In my free time I enjoy writing, reading, exercise and most sports. We fellowship in homes with other lovers of Jesus and are not a member of any traditional church at this time.
